SOFTWOOD VENEER
Trees harvested from our forestlands are shipped to our softwood veneer mill in Yreka, California. This state-of-the-art facility produces Douglas fir, white fir and pine veneer in 4-, 8-, 9- and 10-foot lengths. Most of the veneer is then used in our softwood plywood and hardwood plywood plants in Oregon. This vertical integration allows us to control both the cost and the quality of our products.
In fact, our softwood veneer is a core factor in our ability to produce the highest quality hardwood plywood panels avilable anywhere. As hardwood veneer skins become increasingly thinner, the quality of the softwood innerplies under the veneer face and back becomes increasingly important to the quality of the panel. Our softwood veneer has been machined to the tightest tolerances, making it the perfect platform for any species of hardwood veneer.
All products manufactured at our Yreka Veneer division are authorized to carry the Sustainable Forestry InitiativeŽ program label. This facility utilizes wood from our SFI-certified forestlands. Secondary manufacturers who use our certified products can also apply to use the SFI Participating Manufacturer logo on their products.
At Timber Products Company, we know that our forestlands are a tremendous resource that must be managed responsibly today and nurtured for generations to come. That's just the nature of our business.
