Substrates
Pro-Core PXB
Specially engineered with two particleboard crossbands and three softwood veneer innerplies to provide a strong yet lightweight panel with great dimensional stability.
Pro-Core MDF
Provides all the strength, versatility and value of Pro-Core PXB but features an MDF rather than a particleboard crossband.
Veneer Core
Veneer core plywood has the highest performing characteristics in every category.
Particleboard Core
Provides a uniformly flat and exceptionally solid panel with greater dimensional stability, good screw-holding power and a longer service life for a wide range of applications.
Medium Density Fiberboard Core
Highly machinable and resists chipout and warping. MDF core provides an exceptionally smooth surface with excellent screw-holding power and dimensional stability.
Veneer Cuts
Rotary
The log is centered in the lathe and turned against a knife blade at an angle following the log’s annular growth rings, producing a multi-patterned grain veneer.
Quarter Slicing
Produces a narrow, striped grain veneer where the growth rings of the log strike the blade at approximately right angles.
Rift-Cut
Produces a rift or comb grain effect similar to that of quarter slicing, but generally is only used with red and white oak.
Flat or Plain Slicing
The most common slicing method that produces a distinct cathedral grain veneer.
