Thermally-Fused Laminate and Particle Board - A Match Made in Heaven

When durability, style, and affordability come together, it’s a heavenly combination for builders and contractors. Today’s thermally-fused laminate (TFL) panels, formally referred to as melamine, come in an array of attractive designs and, when paired with the right particle board, can be both an economical and eco-friendly choice.

TFL panels are made by soaking decorative paper in resin and bonding it to a backing material using heat and pressure. The backing material, also known as the substrate, can be particle board, medium-density fiberboard (MDF) or softwood veneer core. The final product can be embossed in register (EIR), which matches the wood grain patterns with the texture application.

Heat and pressure applied during the fusing process seal the resin to the substrate. Also, because the laminate is permanently fused to the substrate, you don’t have to worry about peeling!

Thermally-fused laminate panels are ideal for:

  • Cabinets
  • Closet components
  • Countertops
  • Drawer fronts
  • Hospital environments
  • Office furniture
  • Retail fixtures
  • Shelving

Timber Products’ TFL panels are available in a variety of colors, wood grains, and patterns to suit any design aesthetic. Use Macassar Ebony or Exotic Walnut to bring natural beauty to an office or retail setting. Add depth to a hospitality space or office common area with textured Folkstone or Opti Grey with a satin finish.

Timber Products Company TFL panels can be custom engineered to your exact specifications, in your choice of high-quality substrates including:

  • Medium-density fiberboard (MDF)
  • Pro-Core MDF Core
  • Softwood veneer
  • Particle Board Core

We also offer poplar and lauan blank cores in addition to fire-retardant, water-resistant and no added urea formaldehyde (NAUF) cores.

Seamlessly combine HPL and TFL panels
