Unique to Timber Products, Apex is a line of composite panels with superior strength and physical properties, such as an extra-smooth finish and a homogeneous core for enhanced machinability. These panels can be painted, laminated or veneered, and replace MDF in many applications. For more specialized applications, consider the moisture-resistant Apex MR50 panel or the fire-resistant Apex FR panel.
At Timber Products, we engineer and manufacture our Apex composite panels according to exacting environmental standards. Based on its lifecycle analysis and carbon footprint, Apex is recognized as an Eco-Certified Composite (ECC) by the Composite Panel Association (CPA). The finished panels have No Added Formaldehyde (NAF), are California Air Resources Board (CARB) -compliant and are available with the Forest Stewardship Council’s Chain-of-Custody label, among other certifications.
Apex composite panels feature superior strength and machinability, making them ideal for use in a wide variety of interior applications, from residential to commercial. The Apex line includes certified specialty panels that have gone through rigorous third party testing. Apex MR50 exceeds the minimum performance requirements for moisture resistance set forth in ANSI A 208.1-1 subsection 3.8 (MR50) and has been third-party tested per the ASTM D 1037-12 subsection 4.3.4 for advanced bond integrity and its ability to withstand sever exposure conditions. The fire-resistant Apex FR is a Class 1 (A) flame-retardant panel tested to the ASTM E 84 Tunnel Test standards.
Strong and resilient, with a smooth surface that can be painted, laminated or veneered for a beautiful, durable finish.
Moisture-resistant MR50, as defined in ANSI A 208.1-16 subsection 3.8 (MR50), composite panels offer outstanding performance in high-moisture areas, from locker rooms to coffee shops.
Used in elevators, airport jetways, kiosks, ceilings and wall panels, or anywhere else that a Class 1 (A) flame-retardant material is required.
The smoothness of Apex’s line of composite panels makes them an ideal substrate for low- and high-pressure laminate alike.
Featuring strength and machinability, Apex’s line of composite panels can be used in a variety of residential, commercial and industrial fixture applications.
Apex has physical properties that make it a great choice for a wide variety of cabinetry and other casework applications.
Manufactured with durability in mind, furniture made with Apex composite panels not only holds a beautiful finish, but withstands daily wear and tear over time.
Kiosks made with Apex composite panels are built to last, as the composite panel’s structural properties allow it to survive demanding environments with ease. Apex FR panels are ideal for kiosk applications where fire-rated materials are required.
The physical properties of Apex are equal or better than MDF, and it comes at a better price point. What types of custom cuts are available?
